Uni Success At 7's Tournament
Congratulations to members of the UQ 2 team captained by Mitch Wade who took out the Waterloo Bay Hotel 7's Tournament at Wynnum last Saturday.
UQ Rugby fielded two teams in the competition consisting of players from various teams across the Club. The event was used as a warm-up for University as the Club prepares for its first trial game of the season against Souths this weekend.
Both of the UQ teams were underfeated following their five pool matches in their respective groupings. Unfortunately UQ 1 captained by Ian Prior suffered a shock loss in their semi-final to Easts Renegades who went on to face UQ 2 in the grand final.
UQ 2 went on to convincingly defeat Easts Renegades 50-5 in the final on the back of strong performances by Tavita Kuridrani and Ben Evans.
Once again, congratulations to all players or participated in the tournament.
