Weeks RUPA Newcomer of the Year
University and QR Queensland Reds prop Laurie Weeks has been named the Rugby Union Players Association Newcomer of the Year for the 2009 season.
Weeks will add this latest award to his two rookie awards for 2009 after being voted both the Reds' and Investec Bank Super 14 Rookie of the Year.
Laurie made his debut for the Reds off the bench at tighthead prop in Round One against the Bulls and went on to play a starting role in 11 of the following 12 matches.
University would like to congratulate Laurie on his performances in 2009 and wish him all the best for the 2010 season.
